Judy’s first songwriting efforts were recognized in songwriting contests including the Music City Song Festival, in the Educational Assembly programs that she conducted with a partner and in church. The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) accepted her song, “A Century of Service” as their 100 Year Commemorative Song. Her song, "Jonas Cattell" is used locally for the Children of the American Revolution events and was named for their chapter.  She has had recognition with Audio Masters of Great Britain and was voted Musician of the Month through Peter Harper Art for her song “Timeless”. "Like Picasso" was a finalist for the Billboard World Song Contest, Song of the Year and the Great American Song Contest. It was also selected to be on a compilation CD.  Judy has had numerous songs forwarded by TAXI, the world's leading A & R Company.   Her songs have also been "keepers" at SPONY (Songwriter's Pitch-A-Thon Of N.Y.).

As a piano player, her earlier influences have included Barry Manilow, Elton John and Billy Joel. Current influences include Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Sara Evans, Kelly Clarkson and Josh Groban.

Many people have been role models for Judy and have created positive experiences for her.
